Mental health is often over looked. After 911 people do not feel safe traveling via airplane. There are certain places that people travel to that has children that will pickpocket you. There are some places that will kidnap people and add them to sex trafficking. It is always very important to be aware of your surroundings. It's vacation time and I understand that everyone wants to have fun, but being in a new environment you never know what to expect.
"Always remember to never allow anyone to distract you, or take away your full attention. Always secure your luggage, belongings, and money/cards. Be alert at all times. Try not to look like a tourist, because that makes you an easy target. Do not show your lack of knowledge, that is also a way that makes you become an easy target. Leave all valuable things at home."
Remembering these things while traveling will have a positive impact on your mental health. You can still enjoy your vacation, but you will enjoy it more if you do not become of a target.

We were told to blend in and not wear our uniform unless on orders and directed to, to prevent tension. Other than that i wasnt to sure what you meant about mental health in relation to traveling.
